Leverkusen is now 16 points ahead of the Bavarians and their title is just a matter of time

Bayern Munich suffered a stunning setback in their Bundesliga title aspirations, squandering a two-goal lead to succumb to a 3-2 defeat against Heidenheim. The loss dealt a significant blow to Bayern’s slim chances of clinching the league title, leaving them trailing leaders Bayer Leverkusen by 16 points with only six games remaining in the season.

The Bavarians appeared to be in control after securing a comfortable two-goal advantage in the first half, courtesy of strikes from Harry Kane and Serge Gnabry. However, Heidenheim mounted a remarkable comeback, scoring two quick goals in succession through Kevin Sessa and Tim Kleindienst to draw level.

In the 79th minute, Kleindienst completed the comeback with his second goal of the match, condemning Bayern to their second consecutive league defeat and virtually extinguishing their hopes of reclaiming the Bundesliga crown.

With Leverkusen’s victory over Union Berlin earlier in the day, the gap between Bayern and the league leaders widened further, leaving Leverkusen needing just two more points to secure the Bundesliga title.

Bayern Munich’s defeat not only dealt a severe blow to their title ambitions but also highlighted their vulnerability, raising concerns ahead of their upcoming Champions League quarterfinal clash against Arsenal.
