Honorary president of Bayern Munich, Uli Hoeness, has stated that the club will assist Real Madrid in finding a doctor for the surgery of defender David Alaba. The 31-year-old Austrian tore his ACL during the match against Villarreal (4-1) in the 17th round of La Liga.
Alaba has been diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee and will have to get a surgery that will sideline him for the rest of the season.
“Today, I tried to contact David Alaba, but unfortunately, I couldn’t. At Bayern, we took care to have him operated on in Innsbruck by a doctor we trust,” said Hoeness, as quoted by Marca.
According to Kleine Zeitung, Bayern’s trusted doctor is Austrian Christian Fink, who has previously performed knee surgeries on Manuel Neuer and Leroy Sane.
Alaba played for Bayern before moving to Real Madrid in 2021 and left as a free agent to join Real two years ago.
