Cincinnati Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson will most likely be unavailable for the TNF match vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. The defensive end is listed as questionable for the clash because of a hip problem.
The franchise is optimistic that Trey will be able to return for the Week 8 match vs. the NY Jets.
The DE, who didn’t appear in the 2nd half of the past weekend’s 27-18 defeat vs. the Packers after sustaining his hip injury, did not train during the whole week.
Trey, who had almost 18 sacks in both 2023 and 2024, leads Cincinnati with 4 sacks in 6 matches in the current campaign.
Despite his expected absence, the Bengals could trust edge rusher Shemar Stewart as the rookie returns after a 4-match absence. Shemar didn’t compete since suffering an ankle problem in Cincinnati’s 2nd match of the new season.
At the beginning of the week, Cincinnati DC Al Golden revealed that he expected the rookie to have a crucial role for the upcoming match against the Steelers. The Bengals are in a 4-match losing streak after winning their 1st 2 games of the new season. The team is 2nd in the AFC North, only behind their upcoming opponent, which is 4-1.
Trey Hendrickson (back) is out tonight for Bengals vs. Steelers.
According to NFL insider Tony Pauline: "The Philadelphia Eagles are another team expected to make a bid for Hendrickson. They are one of the worst pass-rushing teams in the league."
