Italy managed to put the gambling scandal with some of their players behind them and beat Malta 4-0 in Bari in their Euro 2024 qualifying.
Italy opened the scoring in the 22 minute through Giacomo Bonaventura, who got the ball at the edge of the box and curled it beautifully into the top right corner for his debut goal for the national team at age 34.

Right at the brink of half time Domenico Berardi received a pass inside the box and fired a great shot with his left foot, hitting the post and going in.
After the break the Sassuolo winger got his second goal of the night in the 63 minute, adding the ball into the net, making it 3-0.

In the stoppage time Frattesi scored the final 4-0 with a good individual efforts and low shot inside the right post. With the win, Italy now have 10 points and is equal with Ukraine in the second spot in the group behind England with 13.
The Italians will face England in their second game in the international break on October 17th.
