A vote will take place today as it will most likely be unanimous to formalize the 2 schools’ admission, avoiding any last-minute drawback.
Big 10 presidents and chancellors met yesterday and gave control to commissioner Tony Petitti to try to lure Oregon and Washington, as USC and UCLA did it from the Pac-12 before that.
The organization wanted to add Oregon and Washington as they explored all the possible options in the recent months after USC and UCLA became part of the Big 10. But till now, they had problems doing it because of funding problems, as they wanted a full share.
However, sources understand now that the 2 schools have agreed to receive only a partial share when they join the Big 10 and will seek the full share in the time being.
