Chicago picked 1^st for the last time in 2007, as they chose Patrick Kane back then. Blackhawks had the 3^rd best chance to win the 1^st overall pick this season at 12%.

Chicago’s franchise is in rebuild mode, and because of that, they traded Kane to the NY Rangers, and captain Jonathan Toews also left the team as a free agent.

Blackhawks are very optimistic after securing the first pick because that will allow them to select Bedard – a 17-year-old Canadian that specialists said the junior center is a generational hockey player.

“I’m a little bit without words to be genuine, but really, really happy,” Chicago GM Kyle Davidson shared.
