The post in question is from a month ago, but only yesterday did the reliever shed light on it
Anthony Bass has been cut from the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday for his anti-LGBTQ comments, that he made yesterday about a post from a month ago.
The news come hours before the reliever was set to catch a ceremonial first pitch from Toronto’s LGBTQ activist leZlie Lee Kam before Friday’s game against Minnesota as the Blue Jays begin their fourth annual Pride Weekend celebration.
Bass had already apologized before a game on May 30, but nonetheless was booed by the Toronto fans in his 2 outings for the team after the event.
The Blue Jays will replace Bass with Mitch White, whom they activated from the 60-day IL.
