Blue Jays top Tigers 9-3 in home opener

In the modernized Rogers Centre, Toronto Blue Jays beat Detroit Tigers 9-3 in their first game at home this season.

Toronto hit 5 of the match 6 homers in the 5^th and returned to wipe out a 3-run deficit. Bo Bichette and Alejandro Kirk hit in the 8^th inning to trash their opponent 9-3 in the home opener.

Kiermaier protected the 7^th ball from clearing the wall after Kerry Carpenter, in the 2^nd period, got a 404-foot drive to the centre, and then to the wall, jumped over for, and got from over the fence.

Rogers Centre was sold out as over 42,000 fans enjoyed the victory in the first game of Blue Jays in Canada.

Toronto (7-4) will play again against Detroit (2-8) tomorrow as Kevin Gausman will start for Blue Jays against Eduardo Rodriguez for the Tigers.
