Matt Boldy scored 2 goals as the Minnesota Wild won against the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, AB.

Jonas Brodin and Mats Zuccarello also notched for Minnesota, who are 6-1-1 in their last 8 matches. Filip Gustavsson made 41 saves to lead his organization to pull 2 points behind St. Louis for the 2nd wild card in the West.

“We needed to win and play well, and I believe we achieved both against the Oilers,” Boldy shared. “There was a little bit of a lull in the 2nd period, but you expect that vs. a franchise like this and the players that they have.

Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman scored for Edmonton, who were defeated in 2 straight matches but are 28-7-1 in their last 36 clashes. Goalie Calvin Pickard stopped 16 shots.

Minnesota will play against Seattle tomorrow to end a 3-match trip, while Edmonton will welcome the Flames in the 3rd of a 5-match homestand.
