Second practice will be 30 minutes longer because of Pierre Gasly incident
Alpha Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas was fastest in the first free practice of Canadian Grand Prix. The Finn set the best lap at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit at 1:18.728 minutes.
Second, at 0.447 seconds away, was the home representative Lance Stroll with Aston Martin. Third was Fernando Alonso also with Aston Martin. The Spaniard’s time was 1:19.807 minutes.
World champion Max Verstappen with Red Bull remained in fifth position in the standings. At the beginning of the session Pierre Gasly faces technical difficulties and his car stopped on the track. The activity was stopped for about five minutes due to the removal of the vehicle.
The second free practice will be extended by 30 minutes because of that.
