Evan will carry a cap hit of almost 4 million dollars under the new contract.
In the past campaign, the defenceman notched 8 goals and earned 40 points in 82 matches with the Canadian NHL franchise. Bouchard scored 4 goals and earned 17 points in 12 postseason matches before Edmonton was eliminated in the 2nd round.
Inking Evan puts the organization over the salary cap by almost 400,000 dollars. Bouchard was the franchise’s last restricted free agent, while uninked forward Brandon Sutter will appear in the training camp on a professional tryout.
Evan is coming off a 3-year, almost 5 million dollar entry-level deal he inked with the Oilers during the summer of 2018.
Drafted with the 10th overall selection at the 2018 NHL Draft by Edmonton, the defenceman has 23 goals and 89 points in 184 matches in the NHL.
