Everything started fantastic for the Bundesliga team in their 1^st match at home in the Champions League as Sheraldo Becker gave them the lead in the 30^th minute. He also scored the 2^nd goal in the 37^th minute to make it 2-0 for Union. The 1^st half finished 2-1 after Sikou Niakate scored in the 41^st minute for the away club.

Bruma scored in the 51^st minute to tie the game in Berlin. As time passes, everything indicated that the game would finish without a winner, but with a phenomenal shot outside the penalty area, Andre Castro scored in the 94^th minute to secure the comeback victory for Braga at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
