Brandon Hagel inked an 8-season, 52-million-dollar deal extension with the Tampa Bay Lightning today.

The contract will carry an average annual value of 6.5 million dollars for Brandon, who was previously set to become a restricted free agent after the end of the upcoming season.
The forward had a career-high 30 goals and 64 points in 81 matches last campaign, notching 1 goal and earning 5 points in 6 postseason matches.
Tampa Bay acquired Hagel ahead of the exchange deadline in 2022 from the Chicago Blackhawks in a trade for a package that consisted of two 1st-round selections, Boris Katchouk, and Taylor Raddysh.
Hagel was drafted in the 6th round by the Buffalo Sabres in 2016, and he has scored 64 goals and earned 132 points in 211 matches in the NHL since then with Chicago and Tampa Bay.
Brandon will earn 1.5 million dollars in the upcoming season as his new deal will become active in 2024-2025.
