Brandon Moreno will try to defeat his opponent and retribute for 2 previous losses.
Moreno, the current UFC flyweight champion, will put his title on the line against Pantoja on July 8 in Las Vegas. UFC chief business officer Hunter Campbell announced today the fight at UFC 290.
For now, this clash is forecast to be the co-main event of the evening.
Alexandre Pantoja beat Moreno twice before Brandon won the title. The 1st victory was a demonstration match at The Ultimate Fighter in 2016 as he defeated him with submission. The 2nd one was an official match in 2018 as this time; the win came after a unanimous decision.
Brandon Moreno is number 1 in the flyweight division, while Alexandre Pantoja is ranked 6th.
Moreno won the championship after 3rd round knockout to Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 283.
