The firing was taken 1 day after the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, returned to his post after a ruling from Brazil’s Supreme Court. He and all his executives were removed from their positions on December 7th after a Rio de Janeiro court ruling on problems in the 2022 election process.
Sao Paulo manager Dorival Junior is the favorite to be named the new permanent manager of the country.
Diniz was appointed as interim manager for the Seleção in July 2023 on a 1-year deal, as the rumors were that after the end of his contract, the team would take Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti as the Italian previous deal with Real Madrid was set to expire then.
However, Ancelotti decided to extend his contract with the Spanish giants, and Brazil will have to act and pick a new permanent boss.
