The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Tuesday morning that they have signed the quarterback Brian Hoyer to a two-years deal.
The 37-year old is the latest addition to the Raiders squad that comes from New England, following the head-coach Josh McDaniels, who himself was an offensive coordinator at the Patriots. General manager Dave Ziegler was also a part of the New England team as an executive.
The arrival of Hoyer comes just at the right time for the Las Vegas team as they are looking to have a backup for Jimmy Garappolo, after losing Jarrett Stidham, who joined rivals Denver Broncos as a free agent.
Hoyer has featured in 15 consecutive NHL seasons, being the Patriots’ backup quarterback for the past three campaigns. He has played for 6 teams in total, 3 of which have been in New England.
The 37-year old has 40 career games to his name and has come off the bench in 36 others, passing for 10,668 yards with 53 touchdowns and 35 interceptions.
