Bronny James is set to make a return to basketball after doctors have identified the heart issue he has been carrying since birth.
The 18-year-old suffered a serious cardiac arrest last month during practice of his University of Southern California.
The youngster was discharged from hospital 3 days later.
“We are very confident in Bronny’s full recovery and return to basketball in the very near future,” the family said in a statement.
“We will continue to provide updates to media and respectfully reiterate the family’s request for privacy.”
After an impressive basketball career at the Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles, Bronny rejected a number of approaches from other universities to commit to USC in May.
