McLaren CEO Zac Brown expressed his delight about Andrea Stella’s first year as Team Principal at the helm of the Woking team.
Stella stepped in Andrea Seidl shoes after the latter moved to Sauber and undergone severe changes to the technical department.
At first, it looked a complete disaster as McLaren failed to score a single point in the opening 2 races as the team struggled at the bottom half of the grid.
But severe mid-season upgrades skyrocketed the team to podiums and even placed them in race win contention(Oscar Piastri clinching the Sprint in Qatar). As a result the Woking-based team finished on a high and claimed P4 in the Constructors, pipping Aston Martin towards the end.
“He’s a great communicator, he empowers the team, he listens, he gives great direction – I can’t say enough great things about him.” Brown said.
“The proof is in the pudding. Look at what he inherited at the start of the year, which was kind of the ninth-quickest car.”
