The Cleveland Browns and kicker Dustin Hopkins agreed on a 3-year, 15.9 million dollar extension, making him 1 of the league’s top 5 highest-paid players in that position.
In the past season, Dustin made an organization-record 33 of 36 FG attempts, including a career-long 58-yard FG. The kicker also set an NFL record with 5 straight matches in which he made an FG of at least 50 yards.
The 33-year-old kicker was set to enter the final season of his deal with a base value of almost 3 million dollars.
Cleveland traded for Dustin 2 weeks before the beginning of the 2023 campaign, sending next year’s 7th-round selection to the LA Chargers.
A 6th-round selection of the Bills 11 years ago, he had been cut by the Bills, Saints, and Commanders. Hopkins, after that, lost his kicking job with Los Angeles before joining the Browns, where he had a career-best season.
At the beginning of the offseason, Cleveland also re-inked Cade York, whom Dustin replaced in the past campaign.
