Pastrnak's hat-trick sending the Boston team to the moon

The Boston Bruins defeated Philadelphia Flyers 5-3 on Sunday night and with that achieved a remarkable feat of 63 NHL wins in a season, something that has never been done before.

David Pastrnak was the hero once again for the Bostonians as he bagged home a spectacular hat-trick to reach 60 goals for the season. Charlie Coyle and Pavel Zasha also scored, while goaltender Jeremy Swayman made 34 saves.

With this victory (6th in succession) the Bruins have reached 131 points, only one behind the record, set by Montreal Canadiens back in 1976-77. With two games to play and opponents that are far away from the playoff spot, this is yet another record that is due to fall.

Pastrnak 60th goal mark puts him neck and neck with MVP favorite Conor McDavid and it is the first time since the 1995-96 season that the NHL has seen two goal-scorers with over 60 goals.

“It’s hard to win in this league and there’s a reason why this record is at 62 because not many teams can get there, so it’s a special honor,” said goaltender Swayman.

“These guys in this room are more than deserving.”

For the Flyers Wade Allison and Joel Farabee scored for their seventh consecutive loss and yet another night to forget.
