Bruins broke NHL points record, defeating Capitals 5-2

Brad Marchand and Tyler Bertuzzi notched from power plays, and Boston Bruins top the points record in the league with a 5-2 win against Washington Capitals at TD Garden in Boston, MA.

The fans were chanting, “We want the Cup!” and Boston won 7^th matches in a row to earn 133 points – 1 more than Montreal Canadiens in 1976-77. However, the record of Montreal was in a period without overtime and shootouts.

In their previous game on Sunday, Bruins topped the NHL record for most wins in a regular season – 63.

Tomas Nosek, Garnet Hathaway, and Jake DeBrusk netted the other goals for the victory at home. David Pastrnak had 2 assists – his 50^th and 51st this season. He also has 60 goals – reached for the 1^st time in his career at the 60^th goal mark.
