Boston broke another NHL record this season.

Brad Marchand and Tyler Bertuzzi notched from power plays, and Boston Bruins top the points record in the league with a 5-2 win against Washington Capitals at TD Garden in Boston, MA.

The fans were chanting, “We want the Cup!” and Boston won 7th matches in a row to earn 133 points – 1 more than Montreal Canadiens in 1976-77. However, the record of Montreal was in a period without overtime and shootouts.

In their previous game on Sunday, Bruins topped the NHL record for most wins in a regular season – 63.

Tomas Nosek, Garnet Hathaway, and Jake DeBrusk netted the other goals for the victory at home. David Pastrnak had 2 assists – his 50th and 51st this season. He also has 60 goals – reached for the 1st time in his career at the 60th goal mark.

Boston is the favorite to win the Stanley Cup, as the last time the franchise won was in 2011.

Nick Jensen and Tom Wilson notched for Washington as Charlie Lindgren stopped 33 shots.
