The MRI for Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield showed a low-grade AC joint sprain in his left shoulder but no additional problem. That’s great news, as everyone expected that he had suffered a worse injury.
Baker’s status for this weekend’s match vs. the Cardinals remains uncertain, but he would be able to be on the field very soon, even if he missed the game against Arizona.
The Bucs quarterback sustained his problem in his team’s 34-7 defeat against the Rams in the past weekend – their 3rd consecutive loss, which dropped them to 6-5 in the current campaign.
After leading Tampa Bay on a TD drive late in the 2nd quarter, Baker entered the medical tent on his team’s sideline. Mayfield was listed as questionable to return because of the problem, but returned for the Bucs’ next drive.
However, the QB was visible in pain and listed as doubtful after halftime, and was ruled out later in the 3rd quarter, watching his teammates from the sidelines with his left arm in a sling.
