Serhou Guirassy has been sidelined for the next couple of weeks due to hamstring injury.
The 27-year-old sustained the injury during Stuttgart’s 3-0 win over Union Berlin, just moment after opening the scoreline for 1-0 lead.
“Serhou’s loss is bitter for him personally and for us as a team,” Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß said. “Everyone saw what great shape Serhou was in recently. We must and will compensate for his loss as well as we can.”
Guirassy is in phenomenal form this season, having bagged 13 goals in 7 games in the league and 14 across all competition. His goals have helped Stuttgart win its last games, which has place the team second in the standings, a point behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen and ahead of defending champions Bayern Munich.
His loss is a major blow to Stuttgart’s aspiration and they would want him back on the pitch as soon as possible.
