Callum Wilson’s recent form has caught the attention of Gareth Southgate and the English national team coach hasn’t hesitated to give the Newcastle forward another in the Three Lions’ lineup.
The 31-year-old has scored 7 Premier League goals this season, but an injury setback against Borussia Dortmund has been a cause for concern.
Nevertheless, Southgate has given him the call despite the injury worries, much like James Maddison and Bukayo Saka.

Part of the reason Southgate is willing to risk is because England has already qualified for the Euro 2024 in Germany and their next opponents are Malta(November 17) and North Macedonia(November 20).
England mathematically secured a spot after October’s impressive 3-1 win over Italy.
The other interesting news is the absence of Raheem Sterling, who has been left out for 5th consecutive squad, despite having 82 caps and 20 goals for the Three Lions.
“We don’t need to know about his quality, his personality. He is a crucial part of why we’ve had the journey we’ve had over the last few years,” said the England boss.
“I can only repeat what I have said in the meetings, we’re playing exceptionally well and who can I leave out?”
