Finland were the team dictating the pace early on, but it was Canada, who opened the scoring through Jack Quinn at 7:12 with a swift counter-attack.

Samuel Blais doubled Canada’s lead in the second after the Finns had pressed hard for the equalizer.

Despite their efforts Finland couldn’t break Canada’s stubborn defense and early in the third period they paid the price as MacKenzie Weegar gave the Canadians 3-0 lead.

Teemu Hartikanen gave brief hope for the defending champions, when he reduced the deficit to 3-1 with 3 minutes to spare, but all to no avail as Canada were unfazed and quickly restored the 3-goal cushion through Tyler Toffoli, who shot on an empty net.

Canada advance to the 1/2 finals, while Finland go away empty-handed as they will have a lot on their mind.
