Canada beat Slovakia 2-1 after overtime and penalties at Arena Riga in front of 5000 spectators in a match from the 2023 IIHF World Championship.
Both goals in the regular time were scored in the 1st period. Jake Neighbours from St. Louis Blues scored the first goal in the match after Jack McBain’s assist. However, Peter Cehlarik tied the game after a power-play goal.

The penalties began after no goals in the 2nd and the 3rd period and the OT. The goals in the penalties for Canada notched Cody Glass (Nashville Predators), Michael Carcone (Arizona Coyotes), and Jack Quinn (Buffalo Sabres).

That was the 3rd straight victory for Canada at the IIHF Worlds from 3 games as they will face Kazakhstan next on Wednesday.
