The Canadian fullback had “sustained a muscle bundle injury,” announced his team. The injury happened during the Bundesliga match against Mainz, which the Bavarian team lost 3-1. As a result, Alphonso left the pitch very early – in the 9th minute.
Davies cannot play at the highest level for at least a month, presumably up to 6 weeks.
Canada’s national football team has a Concacaf Nations League Final to play in mid-June in the USA, as Davis will have enough time to heal and be available for his country.
