The Canadian team will honor Pride Night with special jerseys ahead of the game.
The head coach of the Montreal Canadiens added that family reasons are behind the choice of Gurianov.
The warmup rainbow jerseys that the players wear will be sold in an auction, and the money will be donated to an organization that combats homophobia.
That is the latest NHL player that refuses to wear a rainbow jersey, as earlier this season, the same did Ivan Provorov, Andrei Kuzmenko, James Reimer, Eric and Marc Staal, and Ilya Lyubushkin.
