Follow usCarlos Sainz will start from pole position in Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix after stunning qualifying at Monza that made the home fans proud. The Spaniard left Max Verstappen behind him at second and the other Ferrari of Charles Leclerc at third.
In the first runs in Q3 Max Verstappen made a big mistake in the middle of the lap and set third fastest time behind both Ferraris. For the second part of the last 10 minutes Leclerc decided to go early and set his fastest lap first of the leading pack.
The Monaco driver improved on his time, but Verstappen topped him before Sainz setting the fastest lap at 1.20.294 – just 0.013 seconds ahead of the Red Bull driver.

Fourth on Sunday will be George Russell ahead of Sergio Perez, Alex Albon, Oscar Piastri, Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris and Fernando Alonso.
