Adding to the Celtics’ offensive firepower, Jayson Tatum contributed 19 points, while Derrick White chipped in with 13, aiding in the team’s successful sweep of the four-game season series against the Knicks. Boston continues to dominate, winning 10 of their last 11 games.
Jalen Brunson led the scoring for New York with an impressive 34 points. Brown, shooting 13-for-24 from the field, also grabbed eight rebounds for the Celtics, who now boast a 45-12 record, holding an eight-game lead over Cleveland at the top of the Eastern Conference.
The second half opened with a 4-point lead for Boston, but the All-Star trio of Brown, Tatum, and Porzingis initiated a decisive 30-11 run, putting the game out of reach. The surge included back-to-back 3-pointers from Porzingis and Tatum, prompting a Knicks timeout.
Despite efforts from New York, the Celtics maintained control, embarking on a 10-0 run led by Porzingis and Brown. Tatum’s three-pointer with 1:30 left in the third quarter extended the lead to 97-77, igniting enthusiastic cheers from Celtics fans in attendance.
The Knicks staged a comeback with a 13-2 run, reducing the deficit to 99-90 early in the final quarter. However, Boston capitalized on turnovers and missed shots, going on a 10-0 run to secure a commanding 109-90 lead with 4:43 remaining.
Brown’s exceptional performance began early, contributing 10 points in the first quarter, and he continued his scoring prowess in the second period, guiding the Celtics to a halftime lead of 62-58. Boston showcased impressive shooting percentages in the first half, hitting 66.7% from the field and 42.9% from beyond the 3-point line.
