Boston demonstrated exceptional accuracy from beyond the arc, making 15 of 24 3-point attempts in the first two quarters and establishing an 82-38 lead at halftime. This 44-point halftime advantage marked the largest in the franchise’s history.
In the first half, the Celtics boasted a 60 percent field goal shooting rate, going 30 of 50, and committed only one turnover. The Warriors found themselves trailing by as many as 45 points in the second quarter. With both teams opting to rest their starters for much of the second half, the dominance continued.
Jaylen Brown led the charge for Boston with 29 points, while Jayson Tatum contributed 27 on his 26th birthday. Boston’s overall 3-point proficiency was evident, making 25 of 49 attempts (51 percent) in the decisive victory. Lester Quinones led the Warriors with 17 points, but they trailed significantly at 115-62 after three quarters, with Boston extending their lead to as much as 56 points in the fourth.
Notably, Stephen Curry struggled in the first half, going 2-for-13 from the field and 0-for-9 from 3-point territory, finishing the game with four points. Curry did not participate in the second half.
