Chase, who was traded from the Commanders to the 49ers in the last season, visited New Orleans today and was impressed by the organization’s defense.
San Francisco got Young at the trade deadline, sending a compensatory 3rd-round selection to the Commanders.
After Chase became part of the 49ers, he was a crucial part of the team’s rush packages, working behind Clelin Ferrell. Young had 2.5 sacks and, 10 tackles, and 16 pressures in 9 regular-campaign matches with San Francisco. The defensive end also had a sack in the organization’s Super Bowl LVIII defeat against the Chiefs.
For the campaign, Chase tied a career-high with 7.5 sacks, adding 25 tackles and 41 pressures playing for the Commanders and in the Bay.
Washington used the number 2 overall selection 4 years ago to pick Chase.
