Todd Boehly, new owner of the London team since last summer, reported his own club right after the takeover.
If the Blues are to be found guilty then they could suffer serious sanctions, including potential points deduction.
The London team already received 10 million euro fine on July 28 by UEFA for “submitting incomplete financial information” between 2012 and 2019.
The team are yet to come out with an official statement concerning the ongoing situation.
Roman Abramovich stepped away as Chelsea owner after the outburst of Russia-Ukraine war due to his alleged close relations with president Vladimir Putin.
The enigmatic Russian bought the London team in 2003 and has enjoyed a tremendous success since then, winning 5 Premier Leagues and 2 Champions Leagues, establishing the Blues as one of Europe’s most elite teams.
