After an internal investigation, the Chicago Blackhawks shared today they have placed Corey Perry on unconditional waivers as that means that his deal with the organization will be terminated.
The veteran winger had initially taken a leave of absence from the NHL franchise. The team’s GM Kyle Davidson claimed a few days ago the decision to send Perry away from the organization was made by management. The winger’s agent admitted that it was the player who chose to leave the team.
Chicago announced that Perry engaged in conduct labeled as “unacceptable” and that it was in violation of both the terms of his deal and the organization’s internal policies.
Corey’s last match for Chicago was on November 19th in a 3-2 defeat against the Buffalo Sabres, as he spent almost 15 minutes in that game but finished without a point.
