The Mexican is set to undergo a surgery
LA Galaxy’s striker Javier Hernandez has torn a ligament in his right knee, the team confirmed on Friday.
The Mexican is set to undergo a surgery after which the extend of the injury will be determined.
Hernandez sustained the injury during Wednesday night’s game against Real Salt Lake in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals, which Galaxy lost.
Hernandez has made 12 appearances for LA this season, scoring twice in what proves to be a miserable season for them, as the team sits at the bottom of the standings with only 13 goals in 15 matches.
The Mexican has had a relatively successful last two campaigns, scoring 35 goals in total after becoming MLS highest-paid player in 2020, when he joined from Sevilla.
