The Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes have restructured his contract, as the quarterback will receive almost 211 million dollars between 2023 and 2026, the most money in the National Football League over a 4-campaign span. His salary for those seasons is now guaranteed; Mahomes’ agent shared the news with the media today.
The franchise and the QB plan to revisit the agreement again after the 2026 campaign.

Patrick became the league’s highest-paid player in the summer of 2020 when he inked a 10-year extension worth 450 million dollars. No one topped that deal since then in terms of total value, but a few QBs have passed the Chiefs quarterback in average annual pay, including 4 this season – Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert, and Joe Burrow.
With his new restricted deal, Mahomes will earn almost 53 million dollars per year over the next 4 years, as that puts him closer to the value of the recent quarterbacks’ new contracts.
