Tee shared that he loves the city and hoped to be with the Bengals long-term but is unhappy that the franchise has not had any discussions about a long-term deal extension since the past offseason.
Tee, a 2nd-round draft selection in 2020, was set to begin free agency after his rookie deal with the team expired. In his 1st 4 campaigns with the organization, the wide receiver caught 257 passes for 3,684 yards and 24 TDs. In 7 playoff matches, he has 31 receptions for 457 yards and 3 TDs.
This is the 2nd straight campaign when Tee’s long-term future with the Bengals has been a topic of discussion. At last year’s NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, Cincinnati executive Duke Tobin denied rumors about a potential exchange involving the player.
However, the 2 sides failed to come to terms on a long-term deal before Higgins started the final campaign of his current contract. Tee had problems with injuries in the past season that limited him to only 12 matches.
