The 35-year-old shared a post on social media, where he revealed the treatment he is going through with the Dodgers head team physician Dr. Neal EIAttrache.
“I am hopeful to return to play at some point next summer,” he wrote. “Thanks for your prayers!”
Kershaw has been sidelined for six weeks by the shoulder injury, but neither he, nor the team shared information, concerning the injury.
He only pitched 5 1/3 innings after recovering from the injured list in August.
Kershaw is a free agent for the third year in a row. He signed one-year contracts each of the last two years to stay with the Dodgers, the only team he’s played for since his career began in 2008.
