Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson underwent a procedure today to repair the displaced fracture to the glenoid in his right shoulder, the NFL franchise shared.
The operation was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in LA and was deemed successful. The quarterback is expected to begin rehabbing in a few days and be ready to compete before the beginning of the next campaign.
Deshaun sustained his shoulder problem on November 12th in a 33-31 victory against the Baltimore Ravens.
Earlier in the season, Watson missed all but 1 quarter of 4 matches with a rotator cuff strain to the same shoulder. Rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson replaced the injured QB during the past weekend and led the organization to a 13-10 victory vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A few days ago, Cleveland inked 38-year-old QB Joe Flacco to take Deshaun’s spot on the roster.
