Darius Slay said he was nearly signing with Baltimore Ravens before staying with Philadelphia Eagles.
Everything indicated last month that Darius would not return to the Eagles’ roster next season, and he was allowed by the franchise to look for a trade before the beginning of the free agency.
#Eagles All-Pro cornerback Darius Slay says the Baltimore #Ravens were the first team to call him and gave him the perfect offer:
“This close, a Baltimore Raven, I was this close, this close. But, you know I wanted to be an Eagle, I stayed an Eagle“

However, the Pro Bowler cornerback ended up with a new 3 years contract with Philadelphia in which he will earn 42 million dollars.
“The Baltimore Ravens were the first team that called,” Slay said. “They offered just what I wanted. I said, ‘If the Eagles do that, I will stay an Eagle.’ It was nice now. I was almost a Raven.”
