Los Angeles spoiled Doug Christie's debut as Sacramento's coach after Mike Brown's departure

Anthony Davis delivered another of his dominant performances for Lakers with 36 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists, leading Los Angeles to a 132-122 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night. The Kings played their first game under interim coach Doug Christie after Mike Brown’s firing.

The Lakers managed to compensate for LeBron James’ absence due to illness with a balanced offensive effort. Austin Reaves stood out with 26 points and a career-high 16 assists, while Rui Hachimura contributed 21 points. Max Christie added 16 points, and Dalton Knecht provided a boost off the bench with 18.

De’Aaron Fox led Sacramento with 29 points and 12 assists, and DeMar DeRozan added 25 points in the Kings’ first game after the coaching change.

The Lakers took control late in the third quarter, scoring 12 consecutive points that extended into the fourth, building a 20-point lead. Although the Kings rallied to close the gap to 123-117 with under four minutes remaining, key plays by Reaves and Christie secured the win for Los Angeles.

The Lakers improved to 2-1 in games without James this season, with Hachimura stepping up in both victories, including a 23-point performance against Portland on December 8.
