Long jump athlete Tara Davis-Woodhall, 23, was stripped of her US national long jump title after testing positive for marijuana, Reuters reports.
The sample was taken on February 17 this year.
This sanction is minimal according to the rules of the American Athletics Federation, and the athlete is deprived of competitive rights for one month starting from March 21. The reason for this is that the sample was taken in out-of-competition conditions and does not have a direct impact on subsequent sports performance.
Tara Davis-Woodhall tested positive for THC at the 2023 USATF Indoor Champs and will be stripped of her title in the long jump.
USADA said Davis-Woodhall was able to establish her use came out of competition and was unrelated to sport performance so her ban reduced to 1 month. https://t.co/5iRnPCVtx5

With her personal best of 7.14 meters as of March 26, 2021, Davis-Woodhall is the current US collegiate record holder.
