Denver Broncos DE Eyioma Uwazurike has been suspended without a return date for violating the league’s policy on betting, the NFL shared today.
For Eyioma Uwazurike, it’s not only 1-year minimum length of suspension but timing. He misses not only 2023 season but entire 2024 offseason.
This is a raw DL talent who needs continued development. Even if reinstated next July 24, he’s way behind for 2024. #9sports— Mike Klis (@mikeklis) July 25, 2023
Uwazurike wager on the league’s matches during the 2022 campaign, the National Football League announced. Eyioma can petition not before July 24, 2024.
A 4th round selection of Denver in 2022, Uwazurike appeared in 8 matches in the past year with 165 snaps on defense and was expected to play more minutes in the upcoming campaign.
“We were told by the league today that Eyioma Uwazurike has been suspended by the NFL indefinitely for violating its wagering policy,” the franchise shared with the media. “Our team fully cooperated with this investigation and took violations of this kind very seriously to keep the NFL honorable.”
The National Football League has suspended ten players for breaching its wagering policy.
