The New Jersey team get back on track with clinical display

The New Jersey Devils defeated the New York Rangers 3-1 to tie the first-round playoff scoring at 2-2 on Monday night.

Jonas Siegenthaler scored the vital tiebreaking goal in the third period, which saw the New Jersey team get back on level terms on the overall score.

Jack Hughes and Ondrej Palat were the other two, who put their names on the scoresheet to help the Devils secure a second straight win at Madison Square Garden after a string of disappointing results at home turf.

Goaltender Akira Schmid made 22 saves in yet another shutdown.

Vincent Trocheck was the sole score for the Rangers, who have managed to bag only 2 goals in the last 2 games, after scoring 5 in each Game 1 and Game 2. Goaltender Igor Shesterkin made 20 shots.

The upcoming Game 5 will be held at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Thursday night, whereas Game 6 will be played back on MSG on Saturday.
