German DFB president Bernd Neuendorf still believes Germany can reach the final of the 2024 European Championship, which the country will host next summer.
“We are playing the tournament as hosts,” he told Bild newspaper after losing 2-3 to Turkey in a friendly at the Olympiastadion.
He expressed his full support for coach Julian Nagelsmann: “It would be completely wrong at the moment to start a debate about the coach. We often fail in toxic situations. The important thing is that we can improve things in this situation”.
In the last few years, Germany has recorded a number of negative results, as the biggest blow was their elimination in the group stage of the last two World Cups.
