One of Argentina’s best players in the last ten years – Angel Di Maria announced his decision to retire from international football.
The winger, who scored one of the goals in the World Cup final against France, won by the World champions in Qatar after 3:3 and penalties, will play his last games for his country in the upcoming Copa America in 2024.
“I will leave Argentina national team after Copa América — it’s over for me”, he told Todo Pasa.

He also talked about playing alongside Lionel Messi at club and international level. “With Leo I accomplished everything. The only thing I was missing was to play in a club with him, and the day they said goodbye to me in PSG. I hugged him and told him: ‘the only thing I’m grateful for is to have been able to play with you in a club, to be able to see you every day.’
“Being there for a whole year, seeing him for a whole year, the training, seeing the things he does, for me that was the best, and I was able to experience it.”
