Diego Simeone says ‘people at Atletico don’t like Joao Felix’

The broken relations between Atletico Madrid and Joao Felix look to be unfixable. The Portuguese international had a terrible spell at the club under Diego Simeone and was forced to leave for Chelsea on loan in January and now – Barcelona for the whole season.

With some statements, Felix got himself into serious trouble. Some time ago, he said that he always “dreamed of playing for Barca”, and this definitely did not go down well with the Atletico fans.

“People have personal opinions and gestures. People at Atlético don’t like him sometimes. People have different idiosyncrasies and when you don’t understand them, it’s hard to be there. I’m Argentinian but I’m in Spain and I have to live like people in Spain live.”, Simeone said regarding Felix.

“I’m glad he’s playing now because he’s doing well. If he stays in Barcelona, we will get a good income”, he added.
