Pittsburgh WR Diontae Johnson claims he remains in high spirits and humble amid an uncertain timeline for him to be able to be on the field again after his injury.
“It sucks,” the player shared today, sharing that no decision has been made about putting him on injured reserve. “It’s the season opener. I didn’t get to really do what I wanted to do on the field, but it was unpleasant.
“But in the meantime, my teammates keep me positive, and my little son gives me only good vibes. I can’t just be in a bad mood; that won’t help in any way. All I can do is keep being a leader, just coming in with a positive attitude or a smile on my face, and just to be at 100% at rehab to come back stronger as soon as possible.”
His injury happened in the first minutes of the 3rd quarter Sunday vs. San Francisco 49ers.

He said his hammy was painful and he couldn’t walk the first 48 hrs but now he’s doing some light running at practice. No timetable tho for his rehab. No wrap or anything on his leg. Says he will stay around the team. pic.twitter.com/zNJWC1dzY4
