The world No.1 Novak Djokovic expressed his joy after winning the ATP final tournament in Turin for the seventh time in his career.
“A very special moment. This is one of the best seasons I’ve had in my life. The crowning achievement is this win against local hero Jannik. He is phenomenal. I’m very proud of how I played the last two days against Alcaraz and Sinner, two of the best players besides Medvedev and myself. A fantastic week,” Djokovic said after winning the final.
“I played a fantastic match. I think I played great tactically. I imposed my own rhythm, served phenomenally. I had a chance to double break, but then things got complicated. However, I remained calm. It’s not easy to play in front of a crowd that’s very loud, that gets excited between points. That’s why this victory is sweeter,” added the Serbian.
“I’ve always wanted to play in front of my kids. For the past few days they have been here watching me. I am delighted. Now they are at an age where they realize what is going on. I am grateful to be the father of two beautiful angels,” he concluded.
