Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has admitted that he regrets not being able to participate in the Masters 1000 series tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami, but he is not complaining. He is the only player in the Top 100 who has not been vaccinated, and for that reason is currently ineligible to enter the US, which has kept him out of these tournaments.
“It’s a shame I didn’t play, but I’m not complaining. I’ve learned in my life that complaining brings back things from the past, and I don’t want that. I’m not one to focus too much on the future. I try to live mostly in the present,” said the Serbian in an interview with CNN.
His non-participation in the American tournaments also knocked him off the top of the world rankings, where he was overtaken by Carlos Alcaraz. “I congratulate him because he deserved to become No. 1 again,” Novak Djokovic said.
